Franchise OPS strong in Boston
We just wrapped another successful Franchise Operations Performance Summit (OPS), this time in Boston. This particular OPS, however, had special meaning for more than just what we covered during the two days of workshops. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, the site of Franchise OPS, The Sheraton-Boston Hotel, is not far where the recent tragedies took place at the Boston Marathon. So while we were all there for business, the events of a few weeks ago were never far from mind. I know it was for me.OPS itself provided franchise operations executives and management with a great opportunity to explore a number of topics—first and foremost, how the role of franchise consultant will evolve over the next few years with newer technologies. In addition, attendees also got a chance to network and share war stories with other ops executives and with some of the leading franchise operations experts in the country. Here’s a small sample of the positive comments from the Franchise OPS in Boston:“This summit gave me the opportunity to really work “on” the business instead of in the business. Walking away with actionable step and a network of contacts was an unexpected bonus!” – Diane Danielson, Chief Platform Officer, Sperry Van Ness International Corp.“Franchise OPS gave me the ability to pause, think and be challenged about how we think about the business.”Geoff Goodman, Vice President of National Brand Excellence, CiCi’s Pizza“What I hoped to receive was the “unexpected”. New ideas were not repeated from years of prior meetings– OPS far exceeded my expectations. The final session (On The Floor) was unbelievably effective and a fabulous tool.”Steve Bursten, Chief Executive Officer, Exciting WindowsThe next Franchise OPS is scheduled for July 22-23 in Denver, Colorado.
